Abraham: 4 months!

Stats: 16 lbs 6 oz

Clothing Size: 6 months and a few 9 months

Diaper Size: Size 3 and sometimes Size 4 at night

Firsts: First trip to Arab. First time in the pool. First time visiting Nanny.

Milestones: You started laughing. You rolled from your belly to your back on your 4 month birthday. You kind of say Ma Ma, Da Da, and Bye Bye. You are just making the sounds...so they don't count as first words yet. You love to do the "waa waa waah" thing on my hand.

Food: You are exclusively breastfed and we feed you straight from the tap when you are hungry. ;) I like structure to the day, but a feeding schedule doesn't work for us.

Likes:  Your bouncy seat. Baby Einstein clutch ball. Sophie the giraffe. Ergo. Your hands. Babbling!!!!

Dislikes:  Any kind of loud noise whatsoever!

Best Moment: Hearing your first laugh!

Worst Moment: I let you fall off the couch. :-/

Sleep: You typically take 3 naps. A big change from last month when you slept A LOT. Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy at night, waking up once or twice to eat.

Favorites: The way you smile at anything. If we just look at you, you smile! It is great, and makes us know you feel loved.

Our days: You have pretty much put yourself on a schedule. You typically wake up about 7 or so. We chit chat for a bit. You join us at breakfast in your bouncy seat and listen to our daily Bible Story.  You are usually ready for a nap about an hour after you wake up. I put you in your woombie, feed you, and you fall fast asleep. You sleep in the bed with the sound machine on, while I have alone time with Owen. You typically nap an hour to hour and a half. You usually want to eat when you wake up, and then we head out for our daily outing. You sometimes cat nap in the Ergo while we are out. After lunch, while Owen is napping, you ride in the Ergo or play while I do my daily chore, and then you take a nap. Sometimes we snuggle, sometimes you nap in the swing, and sometimes you nap in the bed.  We play outside or read when you wake up. You take a nap in the evenings right before or during dinner (typically in the swing or bed). You have to have your bath by 6:30 or you kind of freak out. So funny, that you expect a bath at this time! You are usually asleep for the night at 8, and wake to eat when Daddy and I go to bed.

Nicknames: Bubba, Boo, Boo Boo, Squishy Squish, Chunka Monk, Marshmallow Man

Health: so so healthy!

Things I want to remember...

Your sweet chunky cheeks.

The sweet smell of your baby breath.

The way you look at me with your mouth open when you want to eat.

Your giggle.

The way you turn you head into my shoulder when someone new talks to you.

Father's Day Questionare....

My boys are so lucky to have Matt as their father. He is patient, kind, understanding, loving, gentle, and the best role model. He sets a great example of how a husband should treat his wife. I hope Owen and Abe turn out just like him! Thank you Matt, for being the perfect father for our children.

In honor of Father's Day, I let Owen answer some questions about his Daddy. Enjoy! Haha!

My Daddy's name is Matt.

He is 2 years old.

He weighs 7 tons pounds.

Daddy is as tall as a giraffe, but he doesn't eat grass..

My Daddy's favorite food is salad.

My Daddy can run faster than a cheetah.

He can lift a ball.

He is really good at playing with baby toys.

He makes the best eggs....You don't make the best eggs Mommy. You aren't a super hero. Matt is!

He is funny when he does funny jokes.

He likes to have diarrhea on his hands.

My favorite thing to do with Daddy is play volleyball.

I'm just like my Daddy when I'm big and strong.

It makes Daddy happy when I help him.

My daddy likes to wear a Daddy Shirt!

Daddy is smart because of me.

Daddy works hard at Pensacola.

I love my Daddy because I like to play with him.

My Daddy's super power is MATT POWER!!!

Time for a Check-Up!

I am so behind on my blogging....

Trying to catch up!

On June 9th, we took Owen and Abe for check-ups! Owen had his three year check-up and Abe had his four month check up.

We had to find a new pediatrician since we moved to Mississippi. We decided on Dr. Wurm. I think we made a great decision. Before he became a pediatrician, he was an engineer like Daddy. He has a small practice and runs it like an engineer. (you don't have to wait long, doesn't overbook, etc) He is pretty easy going. He didn't even slap my hand when I told him Abe slept in the bed with us! He just said that is fine. :)

Let's start with Owen since he is the oldest. :)

Owen had a little doctor fear. I don't know if it was really doctor fear, or just the change. Either way, he was scared and cried a little. I was so happy Daddy was there with us to help cheer Owen up!

Owen loved the toy room, and Mommy did too. The well room is completely separated from the sick room. Like...they aren't even near each other. You have to go through a separate door to get to the sick room and it is on the other side of the building! Big Plus!

It was also clean, and they had great toys!

If this isn't an Owen face, I don't know what is!!!!

Owen has grown tremendously since last year! He made a big jump on the growth scale. Yes, I know he is smaller than some, but God makes everyone in different shapes and sizes. I promise he eats. :) Dr. Wurm wasn't worried a bit. He said Owen was healthy!

29 lbs! We jumped from the 3rd percentile to the 22nd!

37 Inches Tall! 39th percentile!

I didn't get any pictures from Owen's check up, because he was scared. Dr. Wurm checked Owen out and said he was perfect. He said he was very advanced in his vocabulary, and to make sure we don't compare Abe to Owen. All children develop differently and the average 3 year old has just started putting together 3 word sentences. I love how all children develop differently, and I feel every child has their "thing" they are advanced at.  Owen's is vocabulary.  I have always said I would never compare my children, but I do wonder what Abe's "thing" will be. Will he be really athletic, talk a lot...time will tell. :)

After his check up Owen got a Ninja Turtle glow stick from the treasure chest.

Abe's turn!!!

My little compact baby has actually grown a lot in length! He grew almost 4 inches in 2 months! Abe is now 25.3 inches. He jumped from the 20th-25th percentile to the 66th percentile! That's a lot of growth!

I couldn't wait to see how much my chunk of love weighed. I thought he would be about 17 lbs. I was close! He was 16lbs 6oz and in the 80th percentile for weight. He gained 3 lbs 6 oz in 2 months.

Dr. Wurm checking out little man...

One thing I really liked about Dr. Wurm is that he really respects our parenting decisions. He doesn't tell you what to do he ASKS. He asked me if I planned on spoon feeding Abe now, or exclusively breastfeeding until 6 months. I told him exclusively breastfeed. He responded with GREAT! That is what the Academy of Pediatrics recommends. If you want to you can go straight to table food at 6 months. He said he could even have steak. A doctor that encourages Baby Led Weaning??! My dreams have come true. ;)

Abe had the Rotovirus Oral Vaccine.

He had the PCV13, Polio, Dtap, and Hib vaccines.

This is what he thought of getting four shots ...

I'm sorry buddy! I promise it is for your own good. :)
