Almost Turkey Time...

Owen is having a blast in Enterprise! He amazes me every day. I know I say this all the time, but he is SO smart! He has really changed these past few days. I was going to wait to post until I got home, but I was scared I would forget all of his accomplishments.

His new word is Disgusting! What 17 month old uses the word disgusting? He is also talking in sentences more often.

He knows everyone's name in Enterprise. (and every dog's name). My family is really big, so this is quite the accomplishment.

He has started saying Awww Man! It is the cutest thing I've ever heard...

He was cooking on the pretend stove yesterday and pretended he got burnt. He said OWWW! Hot! Boo Boo! He made everyone in the room kiss his pretend boo boo. ;)

He is walking like a pro. He just had to decide the right time.

He loves playing with his cousins Skyler and Spencer. They make him feel "big".

He also fell in love with Ella and Emme Grace since we've been home. When he woke up from his nap yesterday he said "El- LAH....where?".

He is the biggest "little bama fan" I know. If he sees ANYTHING Alabama related, whether it be the script A or simply houndstooth, he throws his little fist in the air and says "Toll Tide". If he sees anything Auburn he gets a disgusted look on his face and says Yuck! We've taught him well....

He has developed a sense of style. He only likes to wear his "Melmo" shoes. (even though they are a size too big)

He has mastered the "one finger touch". I've taught him we can only touch breakables lightly with one finger.

He has become very interested in the potty. I am trying to decide if I should start potty training or give him a little more time. Poopie and Poo Poo are now his favorite words.

I think my baby may turn into a pickle before we make it back to Birmingham. I can't count the number of pickles he has eaten.

He has started paying a lot of attention to his colors and shapes. I know that he knows red, blue, green, circle, star, and heart. He may know more...

He has learned how to "hop"...or at least he thinks he does. His feet never leave the ground. ;)

He loves to say "What dat, What dat, What dat?" He never says it once, always three times...;)

Here are some pictures from the park in Enterprise...

Is this not the cutest picture you've ever seen?

Loves his Daddy...

Hopping!

What dat, what dat, What dat?

My world!

We are celebrating Thanksgiving in Enterprise this year, and Christmas in Arab. We are having a wonderful time with our family.

We really miss the Falls. I think we should all rent a cabin and have Thanksgiving together one year. I am blessed with two awesome families! Happy Thanksgiving Papaw, Grammy, Nanny, and Aunt Deh-Deh!

Owen and I miss "Ann Cot" and can't wait to see her on Monday. Owen asks for her every morning. :) Happy Thanksgiving Anna Scott! Eat lots of turkey, and be ready to play on Monday. :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

17 Months and Oh, What a Difference a Year Makes!

Yes, you read the title right, my sweet baby boy is 17 MONTHS as of the first! I cannot believe how fast the time has passed! I love him a little more everyday! I don't know what I did to deserve such a precious little boy, but I thank God for choosing Matt to be my husband and Owen to be my baby every single day. I am blessed!

Owen's BIG accomplishment this month is WALKING! We finally did it at 17 months. I am so proud of him. Note the two bruises on his cheeks. He is officially a rough and tough boy.  He is a daredevil. Here he is standing in the rocking chair during his photoshoot.

What is going on with Owen at 17 months?

He weighs about 21.5 lbs.

He still only has 6 teeth, but he is currently cutting 5! Bless his heart!

His favorite foods are blueberries, grapes, ham, bacon, ranch dressing, and M & Ms.

He dislikes carrots, tomatoes, and cake. (yes, cake?)

Owen sleeps through the night for the most part. I love when he wakes up at 3 or 4 and I can get in some sweet cuddles before we have to wake up. He usually falls asleep between 7 and 8. He falls asleep on my chest every night, and I carry him to the bed when Matt and I are ready to go to sleep.

He takes a 2-3 hour nap after lunch.

He can count to 3.

He is working on learning to spell his name. He just forgets the W. W is a hard letter.

Owen is also working on his colors. He can say all of his color words, but only recognizes blue and green.

He can say ANYTHING. He is talking in 3-4 word sentences from time to time.

Owen knows all of his body parts. Even the hard ones like tongue and elbow. :)

He knows all of his animals and animal sounds.

Separation Anxiety is the worst it has ever been. He even has to be in the bathroom with me when I take a shower.

If you ask him how much Mommy loves him he points to the sky and says "to the moon".

Owen's favorite shows are Mickey Mouse Club House, Chuggington, and the Balloon House.

His favorite things to say are "No, No, No Dog" (while pointing his finger), and "Bye Bye Poo Poo". (all boy!) He says these phrases at least 20 times a day. ;)

Owen's favorite songs are "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Taking Home my Baby Bumble Bee".

Owen's favorite books are "No Go Sleep", "Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles", The "Oh, David" board book collection, and "Good Night Moon".

Now that Owen is talking we have had a few embarrassing moments. Yesterday, while at the park he saw an Arabic lady who had her face and head covered. She came to say hello to him and he said NO NO NO....SCARRRY!

Some of Owen's favorite things are Elmo, throwing things (food, balls, puzzle pieces..you name it), coloring, painting, going to the park, and going to the library.

He really loves this tunnel at the park!

Owen's favorite parts of story time at the library is when he gets to play with musical instruments, dance with scarves, and do the "Bean Bag Rock".

Owen also loves to make silly faces. When you tell him to "make a silly face" this is what he does, and he thinks it is HILARIOUS!

Here are a couple more cute pictures from our photo shoot!

Can you believe the difference a year makes???

Trick or Treat!

Trick or treating with Owen was so much fun this year. He was a little apprehensive at first, but by the end of the night he had the trick or treating routine figured out. When we walked to the door Owen would say KNOCK KNOCK, "Kick Teat", and thank you.

We Trick or Treated in the Edgewood area of Homewood. It was SOO nice. Everyone really gets into the festivities. One house had toy story playing on a sheet, and the entire family dressed up as Toy Story characters. I wish I would've gotten a better picture!

Owen does not like masks. Every time he saw a person in a mask he would say "CARY!!! Uh ohh Uh ohh", and shake all over. Bless his sweet little heart!

Here are some pictures from the fun!

Owen was so happy he got to trick or treat with Anna Scott

Mama forgot her jacket, and had to wear Daddy's!

Owen was not happy when it was time for trick or treating to come to an end. I distracted him by dumping all of his candy from his dog basket, and letting him put it in the pumpkin.

Enjoying some candy!

All tuckered out...

We hope you had a safe and Happy Halloween!
