Look Who's Talking!

Owen's new vocabulary is so impressive! I am so proud to be the Mommy of such a smart little boy. Owen doesn't care much about walking....but he is really learning to talk. I love his sweet little voice. He babbles constantly. I've noticed a lot of new sounds. I have a feeling once he starts talking...he isn't going to stop. :)

His fine motor skills impress me as well. He pays such attention to detail. He has started taking things apart. I just looked at the entertainment center and the knobs are missing on the sound system. Hmmm....I wonder who unscrewed the knobs? Owen loves to color. I can sit him in the highchair with crayons and paper and he is entertained for an hour. Dr. Amason was very impressed with his coloring skills. He was also impressed wtih his vocabulary. Owen was a show off at his last check up.

I thought I would share a list of things Owen says every day. I hope I didn't miss any. He learns a new word every day and sometimes it is hard to keep up with all of them!  I am also sharing "how" he says words. I know I will love to look back and remember this someday!  He has also said Papa, Nana, and Papaw a time or two.

13 Months

I just started blogging, and I have been awful at keeping up with it. My two precious angels are napping, so I thought it would be perfect timing for an update. :) I can't believe Owen is 13 months old. Time really goes by too fast. You can't wrap your head around it until you are a parent. I love him more and more each day.

His favorite things are playing Peek-A-Boo, trying to ride his push tricycle, and making us laugh. Owen loves his lovey. He actually sleeps with two at night. He has a silky one and his elephant. Owen's favorite foods right now are watermelon, grapes, strawberries, steak, butterbeans, scrambled eggs with cheese, ham, and hummus.

We recently had our 12 month check up at 13 months. Our doctor's office just changed to an electronic record, and it took a while for us to get in to see the doctor.  Dr. Amason said Owen was doing wonderful. He is still drinking breast milk. He eats 3 meals a day, and snacks all day long. He drinks juice and water from a sippy cup. He prefers a Nuk or Nuby cup.

Owen measured 30 1/4 inches. He is in the 50th percentile for height. 

He weighed 18lbs 15 oz and was in the 5th percentile for weight. (no worries! We are still healthy as a horse)

He recieved his chicken pox and Pentacol vaccines. He was a little sad, but his blue sucker made it all better. :)

One week Check up 8lbs 3 oz-75th percentile

One Month 10 lbs 10 oz-75th percentile

4 Months 15lbs 5 oz-30th percentile

6 months 16lbs 6 oz-10th percentile

10 months 17lbs 14 oz- Less than 5th percentile

13 months 18lbs 15 oz-back up to 5th percentile :)
